It’s improved a lot since I was a student, especially the connection of downtown Kent to campus! I enjoyed my public relations and journalism classes and professors the most, but think there should be more of an emphasis on the reality of the career while taking classes. Once I completed my internship, I realized public relations may not be for me and I probably should have stuck to journalism and focused more on writing and media versus PR.

My experience at Kent State University was a transformative journey that shaped me into the person I am today. I appreciated the diverse community, rich resources, and supportive faculty. The university offered a wide range of courses, allowing me to explore various interests and discover my passions. The campus was vibrant, with numerous student organizations, events, and cultural activities that fostered growth and connection.
One aspect that impressed me was the commitment to academic excellence. Professors were approachable, knowledgeable, and dedicated to student success. The university's focus on research and innovation provided opportunities for hands-on learning, internships, and career development.
There are a lot of things I'm I dislike
To enhance the student experience, I would suggest:
- Streamlining administrative processes for better efficiency
- Investing in modern facilities and sustainable infrastructure
- Encouraging more interdisciplinary courses and collaborations

More BIPOC professors and better off campus housing options would be a great start. The Campus atmosphere was very racist when I attended, administrators can do a better job at checking racist professors and students making the school a more comfortable environment. Schools thrive on out-of-state students tuition so administrators could do a better job with accommodating travel for breaks, especially since they usually don’t allow students to stay on campus for free during breaks.
