I am honored to share my experience with the Penn State Journal of Law and International Affairs.Even though I wasn't chosen for publication, the skills I gained by working at the journal during my 2L year have translated into every single internship and summer position I've had since. In addition, that very same article is being considered for publication in the AILA Immigration Law Journal. I learned how to write about complex legal topics because of my journal experience, and I have used those skills in every legal professional setting. I can't recommend the Journal experience enough!

What a time I had at #AILAAC24! This being my second time at AILA, I was delighted to reconnect with friends I made last year, while making new ones everywhere I went! From dancing in tornados with Flavia Santos Lloyd, J.D., M.A., going on a high-speed speedboat ride with Bob White, and partying it up at the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry, to performing in my first-ever improv scene in front of 200 immigration lawyers with Roman Zelichenko, JD, this was truly an AILA for the books!I had the best time learning about EB-5, FOIA Litigation, consular nonreviewability, and more with 5,000 of my future colleagues this year - AILA is always a firehose of information, but for us immigration nerds, it’s an amazing time for indulging and expanding our love of immigration! I always say that immigration lawyers - and American Immigration Lawyers Association members in particular - are the best and most welcoming attorneys out there, and this year’s conference only solidified this belief! When you’re at AILA, you’re surrounded by friends, not just colleagues. A special thanks to Penn State Law, University Park Allocation Committee, and of course, AILA itself, for helping finance this law student’s attendance at AILA24! I’m also extremely grateful for Cyrus Mehta and Kaitlyn Box for allowing me to sit at their table for the American Immigration Council Gala! Here’s to doing it all over again next year at #AILAAC25 in Denver!

So happy to be part of this team, and to be part of a firm that gives its summer associates opportunities to contribute meaningfully to its work right from the jump!Getting these mandamuses out the door required several late nights and LOTS of cups of coffee, but I’m so proud of the work we did!So to sum up, on week 2 of my summer at The Galati Law Firm , I:* Drafted an I-485 mandamus lawsuit;* Contributed to large chunks of an I-526 mandamus lawsuit;* Began drafting another FOIA against USCIS;* Filed my first lawsuit; and * Discovered the delectable cafe and bakery down the street 🤤What I’m loving most about my summer at TGLF is that I’m not just being treated as a temporary fixture, but as a true part of the team 🙌🏻Next week, I’ll be at the American Immigration Lawyers Association Annual Conference, and I’m so excited!! If you’re going to be there, hit me up, I’d love to meet up and grab lunch one day!

Crazy how this government's response to backlogs and overflow isn't to hire more immigration judges and asylum officers, but to cut off asylum cases at the border. Talk about a band-aid fix to a firehose problem.

Last week was my first week as a Summer Associate with The Galati Law Firm and in addition to attending trainings and getting settled into the office, so far I have:~ Drafted a complaint for a writ of mandamus against USCIS;~ Begun drafting multiple factual records for another mandamus concerning a larger set of clients;~ Initiated a FOIA request against USCIS;~ Drafted summonses and a civil complaint sheet for a mandamus suit;~ Sat in on a client consultation;~ Drafted a motion to the court for voluntary dismissal; and~ Built a desk with my bare hands.A wild first week, but what a great introduction to the wild world of WOM and EB-5! So excited to see what this next week holds!#lawstudent #ladylawyer #immigrationlaw #immigration #eb5 #mandamus #writofmandamus

So so overjoyed to share that I have been selected as one of twelve rising 3L law students to participate in the Ms. JD Fellowship program during my final year of law school! This amazing program is designed to cultivate leadership skills, expand our respective networks, and prepare us for practice - I will be matched with a mentor in my field, collaborate with the Ms. JD Fellow cohort on a project designed to empower the next generation of women lawyers, and attend monthly training sessions focusing on the challenges of practicing in the field. The program culminates with a trip to Chicago in Spring 2025, where I will participate in a Leadership Training Intensive to better prepare me to be a leader in my field. I am so incredibly honored to have been chosen as part of this selective cohort of Ms. JD Fellows, and I look forward to engaging fully with the program beginning in the fall! If interested, you can view my bio and that if the other Ms. JD Fellows below!#lawstudent #rising3L #femalelawstudent #womenlawyer Penn State Law https://lnkd.in/ePndYS-Z

I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Summer Associate at The Galati Law Firm! I’m excited to engage more with employment immigration visas, but especially with EB-5 and O visas!
