Locations of data vaults [COMPLETE - 2022, 5.0] (2024)

Ok, I havn't seen a list of locations for data vaults yet, so I thought I'd start one.
The number corresponds to the location of the timeline entry it unlocks.
I am still checking the leads in this thread, I will append as soon as I've verified more locations and I like to include the timeline number so people who are missing one can immediately see where they need to go.
Oh, and I also checked, the data vaults indeed have a specific lore item. Furthermore, the locations are spawned in these locations, but vary a small amount, just as the locations of the ore/gas fields. This means that 'in middle of purple patch' might be off!

The 4.0 patch added a new data vault, although not a new lore entry. So I added #29 at the end.
Also, at one point the entries in the encyclopedia got sticky, so once you have found a data vault and scanned it's 'leak' the entry will be visible also in new games.
This means that it would be smart to copy this list and mark the vaults you have opened in a new playthrough if you have opened vaults in earlier playthroughs.

4 - Pius Mists XI - SE of Center, +-200km S of Accelerator to Pius Mists IV
5 - Ianamus Zura VII - +-330km ESE of superhighway

6 - Scale Plate Green VII - +-400 km NW of Superhighway
7 - Black Hole Sun IV - SSW of Center
8 - Cardinals Redress - S of Center, W od jumpgate
9 - Silent Witness XI - E of Center, WSW of HAT Free Port
10 - Heretics End - NW of Center
11 - The Reach - S of Center, 300 km SW of jumpgate
12 - Grand Exchange I - SE of jumpgate to Nopileos'Fortune VI (in middle of purple patch, see screenshot in this thread)

13 - Nopileos Fortune VI - bottom right corner, +-300 km SE from jumpgate

14 - Matrix #9 - NNW of Center, W of inactive jump gate

15 - Lasting vengeance - SE of Center
16 - Second Contact II Flashpoint - Just west of the northern end of the highway in purple area.
17 - Atija's Misfortune III - +-235 km W of jumpgate to Faulty Logic VII

18 - Hewa's Twin I - S of TEL Teladi Trading Station

19 - Profit Center Alpha - NE of Center, about 180 km from both Wharf and Shipyard
20 - Silent Witness XII - NNW of Center

21 - Holy Vision - Center, close to jumpgate to Faulty Logic I
22 - Trinity Sanctum III - east of the shipyard and halfway into the smaller highway
23 - Second Contact XI - North of Center

24 - Memory of Profit X - S of accelerator
25 - Silent Witness I - South of Center, roughly equal distance to both jumpgates connected to the highway

26 - Pius Mists IV - Center
27 - Eighteen Billion - N of MIN Teladi Shipyard

28 - Morning Star III, center, close E to jumpgate to Heretics End

29 - The Void, S of the gate to Frontier Edge (this data vault has a scanable lore point but does not unlock an encyclopedia entry)

30-34 - In the Avarice and Windfall locations 5 datavaults get spawned randomly. They are needed for 5 blueprints for a new 5.0 battleship.
As these vaults are placed randomly there is no additional information possible to locate them. Note: they do *not* show up with
long range scanners. You have to use satellites and make sure you zoom in far enough to see the icon. Additionally you can filter
your map to only show the data vault icons and/or use AI controlled scouts to specifically look for data vaults.
You gain the blueprints by picking up goods in the datavault. You can do this before getting any quest about the battleship.

The game is patched now to the point that the economy seems to work, so now back to playing the game without completely OP scanner mods installed
(And it seems that the point at which a scanner detects a Vault and puts it on the map is 1/10 of the scanner range, so I could not blanket the maps as the game rightfully crashes with a 100.000 km range scanner... The 900km range scanners I used still had to be blanketed and then you have to wonder which map.)
