Voters in New York went to the polls Tuesday to consider school budget proposals. They also chose school board members. There were contested races in 17 of the 38 districts holding votes in Erie and Niagara counties.
Among notable results: West Seneca passed its school budget by a vote of 1,693-860; Hamburg passed its school budget by a vote of 1,456-521; Lancaster voters approved two major capital projects; and incumbents lost seats in the Williamsville, West Seneca, Hamburg, Lockport, North Tonawanda, Newfane, Niagara-Wheatfield and Starpoint districts.
