Lottery Procedures During Open Enrollment (OE)

Grade levels whose applications during OE exceed the number of available openings (oversubscribed) will be included in a lottery, which will take place the week following the close of the OE period. Only applications received during the OE period will be included in the lottery. Parents will be notified via email within two weeks of the lottery whether their scholar has been admitted or has been placed on a waitlist.

During the lottery process, enrollment preferences, which are aligned with A.R.S. 15-184, will be given to scholars who meet the following criteria in the order listed:

  • Scholars who are children, grandchildren, or legal wards of:
    1. Employees of the school or charter holder
    2. Members of the governing board of the school
    3. Directors, officers, partners, or board members of the charter holder
  • Existing Leman Academy scholars who are transferring to another Leman Academy campus
(note: scholars must complete the year at their current Leman campus in order to be eligible for priority status at a different Leman location)
  • Siblings of a current LAE scholar
(note: If two or more siblings submit completed registration packets during the OE period and one of the siblings is randomly selected by lottery for enrollment, the other sibling(s) will be placed on the priority waitlist for the given grade level(s).
